The Offspring Return with New Album, ‘Supercharged’
It’s always good news when The Offspring return with some fun. The veteran punk rockers have announced their 11th studio album, “Supercharged,” will arrive on Oct. 11. The upcoming set will mark their follow-up to 2021’s “Let the Bad Times Roll.” Judging by the album’s first single, “Make It All Right,” this record will have a more upbeat vibe than their last.
The Offspring Return with ‘Supercharged’
The Offspring recorded “Supercharged” in three different locations: Maui, Vancouver and the band’s home studio in Huntington Beach, California. They recorded the full set with superstar producer Bob Rock. Holland says the bad has a fantastic time doing the record.
“We wanted this record to have pure energy — from the start to the finish!” Holland said in a press release. “From the height of our aspirations to the depths of our struggles, we talk about it all on this record…in a way that celebrates the life that we share and where we are now. Our single ‘Make It All Right’ is a great example of this because it talks about the people in our lives who make us feel strong when we are feeling low – our partners in crime who make us feel all right.”
As for the new single, “Make It All Right” is truly a summer anthem, featuring an upbeat vibe and very catchy chorus. It’s classic Offspring, with Holland’s high-pitched, punk vocals and wild instrumentals. The upbeat nature of “Make It All Right” leads one to believe this album might be much more positive than their last, “Let the Bad Times Roll.”
“I feel like this is the best we have ever sounded!” Holland said. “We’ve been rocking out and headbanging to it for months! And we can’t wait for you guys to hear it!”
In addition to the new music, The Offspring have some European festival dates up ahead, two U.S. festival appearances at the Inkcarceration Festival on July 19 in Mansfield, Ohio, and at the Louder Than Life festival on Sept. 26 in Louisville, Kentucky, and headlining tour dates.
In other news, there was another The Offspring return of sorts last week. The band performed at Napa’s BottleRock Festival and had pop singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran join them on the stage. Sheeran is such a fan of The Offspring that he even has an Offspring tattoo inspired by “Conspiracy of One.” He and the band performed “Million Miles Away” from the band’s “Conspiracy of One” album at the festival.
“Supercharged” is available for pre-order now via Concord Records. Listen to The Offspring return with “Make It All Right” below.
