Plan Your Donation: The Best Time To Visit Camp Out For Hunger
Preston & Steve’s Camp Out For Hunger is happening Monday, December 2nd – Friday, December 6th.
The week-long live broadcast is free to attend with a non-perishable food donation for Philabundance. Donations can be brought to the donation tent or purchased on site at the ACME Markets mobile store. Donations are accepted Monday – Thursday, 6am – 8pm and Friday, 6am – 11am.
Wondering when is the best time to come? The WMMR staff makes sure that there are activities and events happening around the clock. The Preston & Steve Show broadcasts from 6am – 10:30(ish)am in front of a live studio audience. Their shows are packed with celebrity guests, stunts, live music and games. Pierre takes over when they sign off to anchor the mid-day shift. He’s there to welcome all the lunch time visitors and half-day hooky’ers (we won’t tell!). At 3pm, Brent Porsche fills the DJ set to greet all the over work and evening donors. The Preston & Steve Show are in and out of the tent all day long.
Skelly Amusements sets up their world famous carnival rides on site. They are free for everyone to ride. Operating from 6am – 11am, then again from 5pm – 8pm.
Dunkin’ is on site every morning handing out free coffee and donuts from 6am – 10am. Break your normal morning routine and grab a free cup of coffee for your donation.
Camp Out After Dark is an evening series of events. It kicks off Monday night at 5pm with the highly anticipated Food Trucks and Fireworks. Over a dozen of the region’s best food trucks line up in the lot of Xfinity Live, alongside games provided by Five Below and lots of free fun. At 8pm on the dot, Celebration Fireworks sets off a world-class fireworks show set to a specially curated, rockin soundtrack.
Thursday night is the return of Camp Out For Hunger Quizzo Night hosted by Johnny Goodtimes. Gather up your quizzo friends, stop by the tent to sign up, then head over to Victory Beer Hall inside Xfinity Live! for the classic bar game hosted by Philly’s finest quizmaster. The game begins at 8pm.
Also going on at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex that week are Sixers and Flyers games and a concert. The 76ers take on the Magic on Wednesday, Flyers faceoff against the Panthers on Thursday, and Mariah Carey headlines the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night. We invite everyone attending these events to stop by the Camp Out For Hunger tent before heading in.

About Preston & Steve’s Camp Out For Hunger:
This will be Preston & Steve’s 26th annual Camp Out For Hunger collecting non-perishable items for Philabundance to support those in need. The 93.3 WMMR hosts actually ‘Camp Out’ in the parking lot of Xfinity Live inside the Wells Fargo Center Complex for the week-long broadcast.
During the five days, they invite listeners to come down, watch the carnival-like show. Each morning is filled with new guests, games, stunts… and yes, carnival rides.
The family friendly event is free to attend, they ask that everyone bring non-perishable food donations or purchase donations from the on-site ACME Market pop up store.
The Preston & Steve Show broadcasts live from 6a – 10:30a, then hand the mic over to legendary mid-day host, Pierre Robert who keeps the party going until 3pm, when afternoon WMMR DJ, Brent Porsche takes over until 7pm. Resident Vampire DJ, Jacky Bam Bam is known to do a shift or two from South Philly as well.
The first Camp Out For Hunger in 1998 collected 1 TON of food. In 2022, the generous folks of the Delaware Valley donated yielded 1,757,021lbs and $1,158,732 in 2023. That’s an all time total of over 24 million pounds of food donated to Philabundance.
