Cardboard Classic 2024 Was Simply Epic (Brent's Pics)
The WMMR family turned out for another year of Preston and Steve’s Cardboard Classic! We all had a ton of fun last Friday, as we do every year. This year was no exception.
We were back at Montage Mountain to witness your thrilling rides down the mountain, as well as the epic fails. Every cardboard creation looked amazing, even if it didn’t make it all the way down the slopes. I was spinning the tunes for the sleds coming down the hill for the majority of the morning and into the afternoon. See who took home the prizes for Best Design, Fastest Sled, Favorite Fail and more HERE.
Once the sleds all had their run and the Classic was wrapped, I broadcast my show live from 3pm to 7pm inside the lodge as Jacky Bam Bam was holding it down with the dance party going on inside of the bar area next door.
We saw Collective Soul, who performed live on Friday afternoon as part of Mountainfest at Montage. They were fantastic, as always, and showed a lot of love to WMMR and Pierre Robert. Singer Ed Roland even called “Saint Pierre” many times from the stage, and we got to hang with the band on their tour bus after the show.
I came back on Saturday for more Mountainfest action. This time, it was OAR taking the stage. Their set was outstanding, and they performed a lot of songs that I didn’t even realize were part of their discography! There were a handful of tracks I haven’t heard in forever, and it was cool to have those flashbacks.
All of that was followed by an unbelievable fireworks display show. It was amazing weekend, and we hope you’ll join us for next year’s Cardboard Classic. Mark your calendar for the first Friday in March of 2025!
