We’re only days away from Preston & Steve’s Cardboard Classic 2024. The entire 93.3 WMMR crew will head up to Scranton and turn Montage Mountain into a auxiliary radio station for the day and broadcast al day beginning at 6am. The Preston & Steve Show, Pierre Robert, Brent Porsche and Jacky Bam Bam will anchor the festivities, but the star of the show that day will be the sleds.

Hundreds of listener created sleds will line up on the side of the mountain on display for everyone to enjoy… before they meet their demise at the bottom of the tubing hill.

Traditionally teams like to keep their sled theme a secret and wait for a big reveal on the mountain Friday morning. Luckily, there are a handful of teams who posted early looks at their competed designs. If you are jonesing for Cardboard content we collected here for you.

  Cardboard Sled Union 933 has impressed us over the years with their creations including The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine, a gigantic Harry Potter Train, Jaws, Ghostbusters, Brave Little Toaster, a breathtaking Falcor.

• Delco Beer Pong

  The great folks at Wilson’s Secret Sauce can be counted on for two things: building their sled close to the deadline and incorporating DELCO into the design. The successfully did both of those this year:

  Team Delco Cardboard Building Bitches won last year with their Gene Simmons Chicken. That’s in addition to the Blue Suede Shoe, Kathy’s High Heel , I Just Got Out Of The Shower, Turntable, Eagles Bird Cage, and Wile E. Coyote themes they have brought to the mountain over the years. 

  For the 2024 Cardboard Classic they are on a quest for fun.

• Hi, Barbie!

  Sled Heads will forever be synonymous with the infamous Peanutmobile. They also created The Grinch, the massive Wienermobile, perfectly to scale version of Pierre Robert’s Minerva, Popemobile, Better Off Dead, Animal House, Birdbot, Vacation, Foot Juice. 

  This year, they’re just snow.

• Blues Brothers

  Dave Thompson and the crew at Lakeside Collision CARSTAR in Mount Laurel have outdone themselves. They have surprised us with One Crazy Summer The Boat & Shark, Smokey And The Bandit, Rockem Sockem Robots, Wheel of Fortune. 

  This year they have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes. 

  Jacky BamBam stopped by to help us install the radio in the Bluesmobile last night. Of course it is tuned to 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia. #CardboardClassic #prestonandsteve #montagemountain
