Mackenzie Scott has filed for divorce from second husband Dan Jewett. Trailer for Peacock’s I Love You, You Hate Me, has been released. It details the violent backlash the show Barney received, and how a kid show could become so controversial, and the lasting effect. Disney film to be created for Figment, the purple dragon from Epcot.
[00:35:08] National Coffee Day. Today is National Coffee Day. Preston tells how goats used to eat coffee beans and were energized, and although it’s estimated to be in the form of a drink about 1,000 years ago, it was only verified about 500 years ago. The gang goes through their coffee preferences. Preston tells how he doesn’t enjoy Irish coffee unless it has Bailey’s in it. Kathy tells how she likes trying different coffee shops especially when traveling. The gang emphasizes the importance of treat the workers better at your local coffee shop.
[01:09:50] Dr. Mike joins the show to distribute Flu Shots. Dr. Mike discusses how he has been able to physically tell when people have medical issues. Dr. Mike talks about how it is important to get the Flu shot to make sure we don’t get sick this winter. The CDC says to wait 2-6 months, but Dr. Mike recommends that 4-6 month is a fair amount of space. Discussions of drugs such as Fentanyl being spiked in candies or food. Steve mentions how he started getting flu shots for Camp Out for Hunger. Dr. Mike mentions how loss of smell for long periods of time is a symptom of Long Covid. Dr. Mike says how the benefits outweigh the risks when it comes to vaccines. Flu shots are available in almost any drug store.

An Austin couple puts dirty diapers in a box to trick porch pirates, thieves strike back with cow manure. In India, a teacher is wanted for beating a student to death after he made a spelling mistake. Reebok sneakers are a fan favorite, however some critics are saying Reebok is a “satanic”. The shoes look like a hooves, and people took to social media with their distaste for the shoe.
[01:44:52] Charlie Manuel and his wife Missy Join the Show. Discussions of Florida and the Manuel’s home down there take place due to Hurricane Ian. They are throwing a launch party at The Monkey’s Uncle Wednesday October 5th. He starred in the first ever Sony Walkman commercial in Japan. Manuel reminisces on his life as a major league player in the United States and Japan. He talks about different situations within baseball and how the game has evolved in the time since he was a player. Manuel discusses his memories with Ted Williams, and how both hands are essential to the game where Williams did not necessarily agree with that same idea. He and his wife both live the game of baseball and watch it frequently. Manuel says that Fenway Park was one of the worst ballparks along with Wrigley Ballpark. Citizens Bank Park and Yankee Stadium are some of the nicest he’s been in.

Nick talks about the hardness of stones and how sapphires are rarer than diamonds due to the control over the diamond market. Researchers find from LinkedIn research that it’s not the closest people to you that can help you get a job, but actually acquaintances. Moderately weak ties were proven most valuable when it comes to job opportunities. Almost half of all bird species are in decline and 1/3 are on the brink of extinction. Kathy hates birds but doesn’t want the pretty ones to die. There are 2.9 billion fewer birds now than there were in 1970. Kathy said she had ants in her house and they can get in from trees touching the house or through plumbing.
[02:47:49] Dana Carvey Joins the Show. Dana joins the show doing a Paul McCartney accent and drops the F bomb. Dana reminisces on Too Funny to Fail: The Life & Death of The Dana Carvey Show. Carvey talks about mocking celebrity voices, such as Greta Thunberg, Joe Biden, and Bill Clinton. Dana likes making fun of Trump because of how he talks like someone trying to sell a vacation. Dana mentions the dynamite cast he had during his time on Saturday Night Live, and the people who joined the show after his time. Discussions of the difference in SNL styles take place. AJ McClain lost 30 pounds, he skipped a meal every time someone forgot he was in the BackStreet Boys. Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert. Connor tells the story of his experience. The concert went from 7pm until 1am. Artists consistently played music, with quick changes among artists on the stage. Artists such as Miley Cyrus, Joan Jett, Travis Barker, and Kesha joined the stage. Kesha had a wardrobe malfunction during her set. Sebastian Bach joined the stage as well as Rush. Connor said the concert was amazing and that he would love to see Pink in concert after watching her set. Dave Chapelle joined the stage for a bit as well.
