Phillies in 2023 MLB Playoffs at Citizens Bank Park
The Phillies will host a block party on Citizens Bank Way just steps outside the stadium before each home game.
John Brazer, the Director of Fun & Games for the Phillies, joined Preston & Steve on Monday morning. He talked about the return of the Ferris Wheel that made the block parties a blast during the team’s run to the 2022 World Series.
The block party will include a speed pitch game, food trucks along the street, and beer gardens. All Phillies fans can attend without a ticket to the game. It’s also only one block away from Xfinity Live across Pattison Ave.
The gates at Citizens Bank Park will open at 5:38 pm, and all fans attending the game will receive the red rally towel that’s become a huge part of the best home-field advantage in baseball. Fans should get to their seats early to see the rollout of the giant American flag from servicemen and women.
Even Aramark is joining in the fun with the special unveiling of the “Scwarburger,” a half-pound burger with barbecue brisket, cheese, bacon, and onion rings named after Kyle Schwarber. They’ll also have additional fall-themed specials inside the ballpark.
Brazer also teased a special pregame guest to get the crowd going. “We have a big surprise throwing out the first pitch,” he said on MMR.
Red October
The Phillies clinched a National League Wild Card berth on Tuesday, Sept. 26. The fans have already seen Garrett Stubbs drinking beers in blue overalls with one strap unbuttoned and Brandon Marsh riding a bull at Xfinity Live since.
The run to the 2022 World Series was an exhilarating time in Philadelphia, and the fans are ready for another wild ride. Hopefully, this one ends in a parade down Broad Street.
Expect to hear “Dancing on My Own” blasting at the ballpark throughout the next month. The Phillies will get it started on Tuesday against the Miami Marlins.
