Food trucks and fireworks and drones, OH MY!
Our friends at Celebration Fireworks have outdone themselves! It’s been three years since the fireworks company graciously offered to participate in Camp Out For Hunger. Each year we are blown away by the pyromusical display. The fireworks were perfectly timed to music and the fireball explosions quiet little blew our mines.
We thought that was the pinnacle of surprises. Then we were introduced drones.
Last year, Celebration Fireworks added a new subdivision: Star Flight Drone Shows. And thanks to the generosity of the company, Camp Out For Hunger’s Food Trucks and Fireworks got an added show!
The drone show kicked off with beautiful designs created in the sky like a moon, popcorn and a crescent moon. Next was an Eagles themed section complete with E-A-G-L-E-S chants. Then, to our complete surprise, the drones spelled out PRESTON, STEVE and the WMMR logo. (WOW!) The Kenny Loggings song, “I’m Alright” began to play and the drones took the shape of golf clubs, a gopher and an old school box of TNT. What happened when the TNT box was ignited? Scroll down to see!
What a party!
But first, we have to thank Five Below for brining out midway games for everyone to play for free. The FM Band for keeping the crowd on their toes dancing around… and allowing Preston Elliot to sit in for a few songs.
The food truck area was rockin’. Folks were noshing on food from the array of vendors. Here’s the full list of participants:
- Philadelphia Water Ice / Richman’s Ice Cream
- Backcountry Bites
- The Tot Rod
- Pizzeria La Familia
- Wilson’s Secret Sauce
- Korea Taqueria
- Have A Ball
- Molto Bene Ravioli
- Babalouie BBQ
- Humpty Dumplings
- Algorithm
- Philly Hots
Lastly, a gigantic THANK YOU to Xfinity LIVE! and the Wells Fargo Center for helping us to pull of this massive party. We don’t usually talk about donation totals until after the event, but, we did hear that a full tractor trailer of food left the Planet Fitness Donation zone before the fireworks went off. Thank you, Philly, for being so generous.
