The Mummers are a Philadelphia institution. And while the tradition has been around a few more years than WMMR – sixty-eight more years, to be exact – they have been united for decades. The most recent tradition between the two being MMR’s Jacky Bam Bam bringing home all the awards for his Mick Jagger inspired struts in the Fancy Brigade category.

For the first time in 29 years, the Mummers Parade has a new television partner. But it looks to be a very easy transition for viewers. On Sunday, January 1st, the parade will air on TV, stream online and through an app. We break down all the details with easy to navigate instructions below.

 

  • How To Watch The Parade:

    The 123rd annual Mummers Parade will begin at 9am and go until 5pm. There are four different ways to enjoy the broadcast:

    • MeTV channel 2 through your cable provider [list]
    • Cable antenna: Channel 2
    • Stream the parade live on WFMZ.com
    • WFMZ app  for Firestick, Roku, Apple TV, IOS, Android
  • Wake Up Early to Catch Bam Bam

    Jacky Bam Bam will be part of the festivities this year with Golden Sunrise NYA. His category, The Fancy Division, will be kicking off the broadcast, tune in right at 9am to see Jacky Bam Bam’s performance. He’ll be on within the first 20 minutes.

  • Get to Know The Hosts:

    With the new networks comes new on-air hosts of the parade. Larry Mendte and Dawn Stensland will be anchoring the the festivities. Throughout the day they will be joined by lots of guests including Megan McFarland, founder of Mutts & Mums, David Grzybowski, Dennis Pellegrino, Captain of the Murray Comic Club, and Sam Regalbuto, President of the String Band Association. More guests are being added everyday, check back for additions or tune in to be surprised!
