Shaun Morgan of Seether Talks Quarantine, Social Media Toxicity
“When the sense of community is failing, that’s when you see whole societies crumble.” It’s a grim assessment, but Shaun Morgan has never been once to mince words. The frontman of Seether shared his take on social media culture and its toxic affect on society, telling Sara that he channeled much of his frustration into the band’s next album. Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum will give us a harsh look at the modern world when it arrives on August 28th.
Shaun says he’s far from hopeless, though. He’s found plenty of ways to connect with friends and Seether fans during the COVID-19 quarantine. The bottom line: now more than ever, we need to find strength in our communities and look after each other.
On the lighter side, Shaun and Sara discussed the brand new single “Dangerous” and the creepy visual for the track (keep an eye out for a sequel!). They also covered quarantine activities and what he’s been binge-watching, the eerie feeling you get when performing for a streaming audience, and Shaun’s take on Post Malone’s Nirvana tribute.
