QOTSA Announce 2018 Tour Dates
Queens of the Stone Age will continue their “Villains”ous behavior into the New Year.
The group, currently touring North America to support its new album, Villains, has announced its first 10 dates for 2018, starting January 22 in Victoria, B.C. through to February 17 at The Forum near Los Angeles. The group has received rave reviews on the road so far, and keyboardist-guitarist Dean Fertita tells us that the five Queens members push each other hard when they’re working together:
“There’s always a prove-yourself scenario in this band…Not in a bad way. I think that’s just kind of everyone’s personality, and I think that’s what makes this line-up stick, is that nobody really has to be policed. Everybody is always working towards something new, whether it’s in this band or somewhere else we can share, so I think that’s the biggest asset we have, everybody’s individual motivation.”
Queens has four more dates on the current leg of the tour, wrapping up October 24 at New York’s Madison Square Garden. “Villains” came out August 25 and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, as well as at No. 1 in the U.K., Canada, Australia and several other countries. It was also the No. 1 selling vinyl album in the U.S., U.K. and Germany.
