In another round of science we didn’t need, researchers have linked fried foods with higher anxiety and depression. The study done over in China says if you often eat fried food, especially fried potatoes, you could be at a larger risk of developing high anxiety and/or depression.

The study was done over 11 years. 140,000+ people were involved and after they eliminated the ones who were diagnosed with actual depression before 2 years into their research they found 8,294 cases of depression and 12,735 cases of anxiety in their participants. Young men were more prone to develop this than young women.

Maybe the people in this study who did develop depression or higher anxiety already had that simmering in them and then wanted comfort food like french fries to make them feel slightly better and the actual eating of french fries or fried foods didn’t play a role in actually causing depression or anxiety. If you eat enough unhealthy food it’s going to cause bad things to happen inside your body, which will affect the way the outside of your body looks. That could have definitely played a role in the study results. Moderation is key when stuffing your face with delicious fried foods.

It’s a little upsetting that french fries (or as they refer to them fried potatoes) are getting a bad rap here. French fries are one of the greatest food offerings there are. They fall into that category of pizza and sex. Even when they’re not that good, it’s still PRETTY good and you probably want more of it. Have you ever just had 1 french fry? No, because that’s psychopath stuff. Getting fast food with my kids is one of the little joys in life because I know when I pick it up, I’m definitely having a couple car fries. Then when they don’t finish they’re food I’m eating that also.

It’s safe to say that at some point we have all done it. You’re hungry, excited to enjoy some food, and you notice a littleeee mold on it. So you think, oh I’m sure it’s fine, it’s nature. Well turns out you’re half right. Now, food safety experts reveal the only four foods that are safe to cut mold off to eat.

Sylvia Anderson, a food safety expert, revealed foods that are and aren’t safe with mold. She said it’s because some have higher moisture content than others.

Some molds are dangerous on foods because they can cause allergic reactions and respiratory problems. A few molds can also emit ‘mycotoxins’ into foods, which are poisonous substances that can cause food poisoning.

It really has to do with our porous the foods are, and how it can penetrate into the rest of the food. Sylvia Anderson, the food safety expert, revealed the only four foods that are safe to cut mold off to eat and I was definitely surprised.
