It's Tuesday Bluesday tonight on WMMR.

Without the blues, there’s no rock ‘n’ roll. Its sound is integral to the start and creation of all things rock music.

Blues originated in the Deep South of the United States around the 1860s. It incorporated spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts, chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads from the African-American culture.

One of the best Blues artists is Big Joe Turner. My Poppa BamBam took me to see him and I will never forget it… he was the loudest singer I’ve ever heard. The Greatest Blues Shouter of them All! ROLL ‘EM JOE!

Tonight (July 11), I will be playing a few Blues songs by notable Bluesmen. You gotta appreciate the roots of all the things you love. So it's only fair that we show love to the Blues.

Listen in to Jacky Bam Bam's show in the 11 pm hour for Tuesday Bluesday tonight on WMMR.
