Kathy’s Cuts benefitting Wigs for Kids started over a decade ago when I decided to cut my hair short. But I didn’t want my long hair to just fall to the floor, get swept up and thrown away. After some research I realized I could donate my hair to a great cause. And so Kathy’s Cuts was born.
Gravity Hair Salon has been doing this event with me since day one! This year Vibe Salon joined the team and allowed us to bring the event NJ for the first time. Donors cut 14″ inches of hair and received a new short hair style from the highly skilled stylists at both salons. As a thank you they left with a gift bag of hair products provided by TruBeauty Concepts, a Kathy’s Cuts t-shirt and a compact mirror. Dunkin’ provided refreshments at both salons.
Thank you to each and every donor who generously donated their hair to Wigs for Kids. The event wouldn’t exist without you! Wigs for Kids provides custom-made, hand tied hair pieces to children suffering from hair loss for any reason. The wigs are made completely from human hair and are provided to the children free of charge.
The various causes of hair loss in children don’t result in just physical suffering. The change in their appearance can drastically undermine their self-image and sabotage their self-esteem. To help heal the pain of these struggles, Wigs For Kids, provides children suffering from hair loss with hair pieces made with real hair.
