‘Master Of Puppets’ Reissue In The Works
Obey your box set…box set! Metallica is planning to revisit its third album, Master Of Puppets, for a deluxe reissue later this year.
Drummer Lars Ulrich tells Montreal’s Voir that the group is “working on” the project, which will follow last year’s deluxe reissues of Metallica’s first two album, Kill ‘Em All and Ride The Lightning.
“There are so many things associated with ‘Master Of Puppets,’ Ulrich says. ‘It is an immense project. We spent a lot of time working on (2016’s) ‘Hardwired To Self-Destruct’ and ‘Master Of Puppets’ is the next project. We hope to have it out by the end of the year, if not a little later.”
Master Of Puppets was released March 3, 1986 and has since been certified six-times platinum.
…Metallica, meanwhile, held its fifth annual Metallica night with the group’s hometown San Francisco Giants on Monday night (August 7) at AT&T Park. James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the game, while Hammett played a solo version of “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” during the seventh inning stretch.
