FireAid 2025: How Philly Can Watch And Help
Over the past couple of weeks a natural tragedy has been occurring on our country’s western coast. Multiple wildfires have been raging in Los Angeles, California since January 7th. According to the Los Angeles Times “more than 150,000 people who have had to evacuate or lost their homes, and damaging or destroying more than 15,000 structures”. Its also estimated the recovery effort will cost approximately $250 billion making it the most expensive natural disaster in United States history.
The power of music has the power to raise funds and awareness like no other medium can. We in Philadelphia can attest to that given it was one of the hosts of one of the greatest fundraising concerts in history: Live Aid. Almost 40 years since that legendary concert, the music community comes together in the same vein in Los Angeles today for another concert to help those in need in the form of FireAid.
FireAid: Who, What and Where
FireAid will be taking place today, January 30th 2025 at two different locations in LA. The relatively newer home of the Clippers the Intuit Dome will host some artists. There will also be a great portion performing at the legendary Kia Forum. Featuring a lineup that could easily be described as “Everything That Rocks” as it blends all forms of genres and styles. Some of the artist performing include Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Graham Nash, Stephen Stills, Jelly Roll, and so many more.
Fortunately for those who cannot physically be in attendance to FireAid there are numerous ways to watch the concert from the comfort of you own home. The performances will be streaming on Apple Music/Prime Video, Max, Paramount+, Netflix/Tudum, and YouTube just to name a few. There is also a way for you to contribute from home as well.
How Can I Help?
To celebrate this musical gathering for the greater good, Pierre Robert will be honoring the event with a special Work Force Block of the artists performing at FireAid. If you are inspired and wish to help those affected by these devastating wildfires, donations to FireAid can be made here.
All proceeds according to the official event site will be “be distributed under the advisement of the Annenberg Foundation and will be distributed for short-term relief efforts and long-term initiatives to prevent future fire disasters throughout Southern California”.
