BAM BAM interviews Clem Burke, drummer for The Empty Hearts
THE EMPTY HEARTS have done it again! The Wicked Cool band that Little Steven named, have just released their 2nd Album titled “The Second Album” (Wicked Cool Records).
For those who grew up on ear candy gold from The Beatles, Kinks, Stones, Animals, Who and sounds of The British Invasion. If you consider yourself a true music vinyl lover, THE EMPTY HEARTS are for you! The band consists of four Rock N’ Roll lifers Elliot Easton (Cars) on guitar joined by fellow RNR HOF Drummer Clem Burke (Blondie, Dramarama, Ramones….) along with hitmaker Wally Palmar (The Romantics) on Vocals/Harmonica and Andy Babiuk (The Chesterfield Kings) on bass. Special Guest appearance by Beatle Ringo Starr. Produced by Ed Stasium. This new album will jump out of your speakers! Made in the spirit of 50’s,60’s Garage Rock and Roll. It’s full of raw, raucous energy from beginning to end and the melodies laid down here are fantastic. It’s obviously these guys click musically.
This is a fun one, and I recommend this Empty Hearts “Second Album” to anyone interested in 60’s Rock and fans of the bands mentioned above. I spent some time with one of My favorite Drummers CLEM BURKE to run down the track listing, tell us about his band-mates, where, when and how does the band find time to make this special project happen!? Many configurations of the album available, influences, Mac from The Small Faces/Faces. I had to ask Clem about his kit, being Elvis Ramone and how Blondie’s Classic “Heart Of Glass” was recorded! Please take a listen (I know it’s rather lengthy but hey it’s Clem Burke! LOL) . Thanks so much To Clem Burke and THE EMPTY HEARTS, The Garage Rock Influenced Super Group for filling our Empty Hearts and Congratulations on their new “Second Album”!
