The Hooters just announced the release of Rocking & Swing, their first new studio album since 2010. The new album will be released on May 12th on all major streaming services.
Rocking & Swing is a throwback to The Hooters’ roots. It features their oh-so unique blend of ska, reggae and rock. It comes with 8 new tracks and a bonus live track recorded at The Keswick Theatre in November 2022.
The first single will be “Why Won’t You Call Me Back.” Stream it here.
Some of the new album’s tracks were transferred from 4-track PortaStudio cassette demos from the 80s into ProTools. These vintage elements help the new record have an air of the past.
The band is also re-releasing a remastered debut single. Their 1981 debut 45 single, “Fightin’ On The Same Side” and “Wireless” will be available with the original artwork sleeve. It's newly remastered for a limited special edition on yellow vinyl.
The Hooters are also going on their first US tour since the 90s. The band will be joining Rick Springfield’s “I Want My 80s” US tour, from August 4th to Sept. 17th. See the tour dates here.

'MMR has a storied history with The Hooters. Our relationship with them has always been symbiotic. It started in 1982 when Michael Tearson played them on the station during his show. A small local band that had a great new song out. We played their first EP "Amore" like crazy when it came out as well.
The Hooters have always been gracious enough to return the favor whenever they can. They play in the studio a bunch and even headlined WMMR's 20th Anniversary celebration. We love these guys and are so happy to see them releasing new music and touring here again.
