2023 Preston & Steve Blood Drive Collects Over 1K Units For Red Cross
The 18th Annual I Bleed For Preston & Steve Blood Drive results are in. On one single day, between two locations, 1,169 blood donations were made to The American Red Cross.
On Friday, June 16th, 93.3 WMMR and the American Red Cross set up a dual blood drive and radio broadcast at two different locations. The Preston & Steve Show (6-10:30a) and Brent Porche (3-7p) did their shows live at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks while donations were being collected. Pierre Robert (10:30-3p) did the same at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia Event Center after an early morning visit from evening DJ, Jacky Bam Bam.
Every donor in attendance received a coveted 2023 Preston & Steve Blood Drive T-Shirt. This year’s theme was a twist on the iconic Ted Lasso sign. Instead of BELIEVE, the sign read BLEED (photos below). Thanks to our partners at Window Nation, donors also received a reusable tote with the Ted Lasso art.
Thank you to all the staff and volunteers from the The American Red Cross for covering two massive blood drives happening simultaneously! Everfresh Juice and Juice Drinks kept our donors replenished and the students of Neumann Media at Neumann University covered our on site videography and streaming services. Speaking of which, The Preston & Steve broke multiple world records that morning and the videos are phenomenal. There was a Dunkin Munchkin Toss and a Dunkin’ Munchkin Flyby – both worth a watch.
Our biggest thank you goes out to all of the donors. There were lots of people in attendance who have been to all 18 blood drives, many of whom showed up wearing vintage shirts. There were also 123 first-time donors! Each and every one of you made a big impact and for that we will be forever grateful.
In 2022, the I Bleed For Preston & Steve Blood Drive collected 959 donations. Our record for the largest I Bleed For Preston & Steve Blood drive was set in 2019, when we collected 1,426 units for the American Red Cross. Thanks to your participation this year, we are well on our way to those record setting numbers again. Way to go, Philly!
