Pearl Jam’s Fan Club Christmas Single Features a Surprise Guest
Pearl Jam has tapped this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction for its annual fan club Christmas single.
The disc features a soundcheck version of its first hit, “Alive,” recorded during a sound check for the Rock Hall induction ceremony, which took place April 7 in Brooklyn. The performance is notable because it features original drummer Dave Krusen behind the kit; Krusen and current Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron were inducted into the Rock Hall, while Pearl Jam’s other three drummers — Dave Abbruzese, Jack Irons and Matt Chamberlain — were left out. The single also includes a cover of Chuck Berry’s “Around And Around” recorded on March 30 while the group was rehearsing for the induction ceremony.
Pearl Jam is reportedly working on a new album for 2018 while also planning tours of North America and Europe.
