ROLLING STONES Guitarist Ronnie Wood Is Cancer Free: Loudwire
Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood is now cancer free. A cancerous lesion in Wood’s lung was discovered in May of last year, but he beat the disease relatively quickly, and without the use of chemotherapy. The chemo wasn’t required since the cancer had not spread to his other lung. Wood says: “I had three months of check-ups and it was all clear and they said go and enjoy life.”
He goes on to say that despite the scary diagnosis, he has no regrets about the drug-fueled lifestyle he embraced for so many years, saying: “It was a wonder I wasn’t riddled with cancer in both lungs. It’s a wonder they both didn’t explode.”
Mike Shinoda of LINKIN PARK Previews Solo LP: Rolling Stone
After teasing a possible solo project, Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park has made it official: Post Traumatic will arrive on June 15th, and it is not a Linkin Park project, nor is it a Fort Minor project. Instead, this will be Shinoda’s debut solo album, and he premiered two new tracks from it: “Crossing a Line” and “Nothing Makes Sense Anymore.”
He says in a statement: “It’s a journey out of grief and darkness, not into grief and darkness. If people have been through something similar, I hope they feel less alone. If they haven’t been through this, I hope they feel grateful.”
This will be his first collection of music released since the death of bandmate Chester Bennington.
DEFTONES Are Back In The Studio: WMMR.com
Following up the 2016 album Gore, Deftones have started to jam in the studio once more. Photos on their Instagram are hinting that new music could soon be on the way. Singer Chino Moreno has previously said in an interview: “We have talked about getting together sooner [rather] than later to start making noise together – just out of pure excitement of creating music.”
