50th Anniversary of Woodstock Taking Place August 16-18
It’s official: A 50th Anniversary celebration in honor of Woodstock will be taking place in 2019 on the site of the original legendary festival.
Per the website for the Bethel Wood Center for the Arts, the anniversary festival will be officially dubbed “Bethel Woods Music And Culture Festival: Celebrating the Golden Anniversary at the Historic Site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival,” which is an extraordinary mouthful considering everyone is just going to call it “Woodstock 50” anyway.
The festival itself will feature “live music, TED-style talks and special exhibits,” however, a lineup has yet to be announced but will be announced soon along with ticket details.
Hopefully, this festival will be better remembered than the absolute disaster that was Woodstock ‘99, which really gives Altamont a run for its historical awfulness.
