FLASHBACK: Paul McCartney on “Carpool Karaoke”
Paul McCartney celebrates his birthday today (June 18), and among the ways to celebrate, make sure you rewatch his appearance on ”Carpool Karaoke.”
Sir Paul’s turn as guest on the popular Late Late Show segment aired about a year ago, and it was far more moving than expected.
James Corden and McCartney drove all around Liverpool and made various stops along the way, with the most interesting being McCartney’s childhood home. The two sang Beatles classics like “Drive My Car,” “Penny Lane,” “Let It Be,” “Blackbird” and even “Come On to Me,” a track off his most-recent album Egypt Station.
The whole segment culminated in the now-infamous surprise Philharmonic pub show and an epic “Hey Jude” sing-a-long.
This is easily the best episode of “Carpool Karaoke.” How could it not with all of the ground covered? Corden has yet to top it, and he likely won’t.
