Stone Cold Steve Austin Subject of New Documentary From Makers of ‘The Last Dance’
If Stone Cold Steve Austin being the subject of a documentary from the makers of The Last Dance piques your interest, give me a “Hell yeah!”
Everyone’s favorite “Texas Rattlesnake” is set to get the Michael Jordan treatment with his very own documentary from the producers of the hit ESPN docuseries that chronicled Jordan’s final season with the Chicago Bulls.
The news broke via former WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia who said in a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, “WWE reached out to me first. They were like, ‘Hey, somebody from ‘The Last Dance’ is going to reach out to you, they want you involved in the documentary.’ I was like, ‘Wait, what?’ …[I] come to find out that want to do a documentary for ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and it’s coming out next year. And he gave me the biggest compliment, he said, ‘Your interview with Steve that you did on [your podcast] ‘Chasing Glory’ was what made us realize that we wanted to do a different documentary,’ because he’s had a few already.”
Another Austin documentary is currently in the works. ComicBook.com notes, “It’s also unclear if this is connected to the current documentary being made by WWE Studios and A&E. Back in April 2019, the network announced it was teaming up with WWE to create five documentaries as part of its ‘Biography’ series. Austin will be the focus of one episode, along with Shawn Michaels, Booker T, Roddy Piper and Randy Savage.”
There’s also no information whether this new Austin documentary will be a multi-part docuseries similar to The Last Dance.
