POLL: Do You Consider ZZ Top To Be ‘Southern Rock’?
ZZ Top had some new activity on Wikipedia as of late, and it’s led to an interesting question.
Twitter account @valleyedits, which tracks the anonymous Wikipedia edits from Google, Facebook, Apple, Twitter, and Wikimedia Foundation IP addresses. saw that someone from Apple edited the Wikipedia page for The Best of ZZ Top, the band’s greatest hits collection released in 1977. The change that was made was removing “Southern Rock” under the album’s genre listing.

Apple news site iMore also noted that this same editor has “…made multiple changes to ZZ Top articles across Wikipedia, including changes to all of the articles that cover the band’s studio records…It’s currently unclear why the changes were made, and if this was something being done formally by Apple or by an employee that just happens to be incredibly passionate about the genre that ZZ Top is included in.”
Of course, all of this leads to this question: Do you consider ZZ Top to be “Southern Rock”? Let us know in the poll below!
