Slash: New Preview to Solo LP Features Chris Stapleton
Slash has released the latest preview to his upcoming solo album, Orgy of the Damned.
The preview is a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Oh Well” featuring Chris Stapleton, which can be heard below.
Slash told The Tennessean about recruiting Stapleton for this track, “When I was doing this record, this song has a riff I’ve always wanted to do and his voice came to mind. I thought his kind of delivery with that song would be so … cool.”
Stapleton once opened for Guns N’ Roses on a handful of shows, but the GN’R guitarist wasn’t able to connect with the country star at the time. Instead, Slash says he had to cold-call Stapleton about working with him. He then told The Tennessean, “Fortunately, he knew who I was.”
Whether Slash is just being modest or maybe telling a joke is unclear, but yeah, pal…most people with a clue know who you are.
Orgy of the Damned comes out on May 17 and is available for pre-order in a variety of formats via GibsonRecords.com.
