Shinedown Add New Flavor to Hot Sauce Line
Shinedown bring the heat on stage and in the kitchen, and their hot sauce line is expanding.
The first of the spicy offerings was Symptom Chipotle Garlic Sauce, which launched earlier this year. It’s made in collaboration with Torchbearer Sauces, who are based here in Pennsylvania. The name is a nod to Shinedown’s ballad “A Symptom of Being Human.” Watch WMMR’s Brent Porche put it to a taste test on Instagram.
Now, the band have added Devour Pineapple Jerk Sauce to their condiment selection. Torchbearer describes the flavor as “tangy and sweet pineapple with herbaceous goodness followed by a delightful tingle that will satisfy that craving for heat without leaving anyone gasping for air.” They add that the “heat level is on par with our first collaboration sauce, Symptom, so there’s no need to fear, but the taste is completely different.” You can purchase it here, and keep scrolling for a discount code.
In an interview with Brent Porche, Shinedown drummer Barry Kerch said that they took great care to develop a sauce that their fans would love. He explains: “We went through different versions where the flavor profile was kind of already there, but do we want it a little thicker? Do we want it more airy? All these kinds of things that you don’t really think about when it’s just a simple condiment, right? But we really wanted it to be something special, to put our name on it. So it was a lot of fun to do.”
Kerch also confirmed that Shinedown are cooking up something in the studio for us, saying: “You’ll hear something, I imagine, by the end of the year, if not beginning of next year… We don’t want to rest. We don’t want to take too much time.”
