Sebastian Bach and Chris Jericho’s Twitter Spat: A Breakdown
Sebastian Bach and Chris Jericho engaged in a very entertaining back and forth on Twitter last night and very early this morning. For those that enjoy Twitter drama, grab some popcorn and pull up a chair. There’s a lot happening here, but here’s a breakdown of the important points
It all started when Twitter user @TravisDrago shared during last night’s episode of AEW’s Dynamite, “Man @IAmJericho is starting to look like @sebastianbach.” Bach then replied, “Every single day for the last two or three years somebody tells me this.”
Jericho quote retweets Bach’s response saying, “Good looking guys are good looking guys. What else can we say dude!”
However, things take a turn. After a Twitter user tells Bach, “You partied too much. Jericho has you beat,” Bach says, “He definitely does considering that he mimes to tape.”
Jericho quote retweets Bach saying, “I sing my ass off every night dude. Do you really wanna go there?”
Another Twitter user tells Bach, “You know he tours with his band, right? I’ve seen him live a couple of times. He’s not lip syncing.” Bach then replies, “Cool let’s see a clip of that then because every single clip I have seen is Milli Vanilli.”
After pointing out his band, Fozzy, is more popular on Spotify, Jericho hits back at the Milli Vanilli comment with, “Hi… I’m Chris “Milli Vanilli” Jericho. I have 5 top 30 singles in the last five years w my band @FOZZYROCK. I’m a huge fan of @sebastianbach… who had 3 top 30 singles 30 years ago. I always admired him as a singer and a friend! And I still do.”
Bach replies, “That’s great is there a clip of you actually singing live? Because all I have seen are clips of you miming to a tape. Congrats on the radio hits and your hair is certainly looking good these days.”
At this point, Jericho issues a challenge against Bach tweeting, “I’ve seen the derogatory comments towards me from somebody I considered to be a friend. So with that in mind, I’ll be happy to have a SING OFF w @sebastianbach! No effects, no tuning, no bullshit. Bas is a great singer…but I’m better. You’ve got my number dude. Call me.”
Following that, Bach replies, “Where is the derogatory comment? All I asked is to see one single clip of you singing live. Every clip on the Internet is you miming to a tape. I will sing in your f****** face anytime. Wrestling is not rock and roll. I will show you f****** rock and roll.”
Jericho replied with, “I’ve never mimed anything ever! And I don’t use *** in a tweet ever. I will fucking sing in your face anytime, anyplace dude. I’ve been a fan & a defender of u since day one…but don’t u ever question my rock abilities! And leave wrestling out of this…I can hit a G4 brah!”
Jericho appeared to have finally signed off of Twitter at this point (at nearly 6 AM ET, no less), but Bach kept going for a bit telling one Twitter user, “I am not going against anybody. It’s obvious between the two of us that one of us is copying the other as far as being a rockstar goes. I can guarantee you that that is not me.” Bach would then makes fun of Jericho’s height and then share a clip of Jericho singing accusing it to being an example of him using a backing track.
It all stopped at 8:54 AM ET when Bach tweeted, “Someone just notified me that my name is the number 9 trending Twitter topic in the United States of America. Okay well I better go to bed.”
At this point, who knows what will happen next, but a sing-off of sorts would be rather entertaining. Stay tuned!
