Man Breaks Guinness World Record For Most Straws Stuffed In His Mouth
There are plenty of weird Guinness World Records that have been announced over the years. This one certainly fits the bill as bizarre! One 23-year-old man who is currently living in India has just broken the Guinness World Record for the most straws stuffed in the mouth (hands off). Manoj Kumar Maharana managed to jam 459 straws into his mouth!
Pretty impressive, right? Surprisingly, this title was pretty hard to accomplish. Previous to Manoj grabbing the title, no one had beaten the original record in nearly eight years says Guinness World Records.
Previous to Manoj, Simon Elmore was the record holder. During a Mark ’n’ Simon Show in Germany, he stretched his mouth far enough to fit 400 straws.

According to Guinness, Manoj had some rules around his record. He needed to “make sure all straws were fully in his mouth and remained there for at least 10 seconds without falling.”
Both Manoj and Simon were not allowed to use their hands to prop the straws up. However, they were permitted to use rubber bands to keep the straws together. That is some mighty strong teeth strength both those boys have!

Guinness also has a different record for most straws stuffed in the mouth with hands. The world record company notes that this record comes with a high straw total since competitors are allowed to use their hands.

Currently, Rishi from India holds the title for this specific title. He held 496 straws in his mouth and hands for 10 seconds. But, fun fact, Guinness noted that he had all of his “teeth removed so that he could cram more straws in his mouth.”
