Welcome Home! Pierre’s Annual Thanksgiving Broadcast
Greetings, Citizens! Thanksgiving is upon us, and it’s one of my favorite times of the year. This Thursday, as we do every year, WMMR invites you to listen to the annual Welcome Home broadcast. Whether you’re going a short distance up 95 to see Grandma or you flew into Philadelphia from across the country, we want to bring the feeling of home to you with great music and gratitude.
WMMR has called Philly home for 55 years now, but the station itself is a ‘home away from home’ for many people. You can stream us from just about anywhere, at any time, for free. If you’re not in the Philly area for Thanksgiving this year, we encourage you to join the fun and ask your smart speaker to “Open MMR,” or stream the show on the MMR App or right here on WMMR.com.
I always look forward to traditions, and one that’s close to my heart is the annual playing of Arlo Guthrie’s classic, “Alice’s Restaurant.” You’ll hear it not once, not twice, but three times! The first spin will be the original version of the song at 10am (on Pierre Standard Time, of course) followed by a live version at noon and the Vinyl Cut at 2pm.
