Your Last Chance to See Sum 41 in Philly is Saturday
Sum 41 are hanging it up, but not before one last hurrah. They’re performing live in Philadelphia on Saturday night, performing a mix of their hits alongside material from their new and final album Heaven :X: Hell.
Why are Sum 41 breaking up?
Frontman Deryck Whibley explained in an interview last year: “I felt like after all these years with my 1,000 percent focus on Sum 41 all day, every day, I felt like I don’t have much more of that in me to continue past this record.”
The band are going out on top: “Landmines,” which you’ve heard on WMMR, cracked the number one spot on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart. The song is from their eighth album Heaven :X: Hell, which will be their last, as confirmed by the band on their social media.
The last time they scored a radio chart-topper was with their signature anthem “Fat Lip” in 2001.
When and where can I see the band live?
To celebrate their career and solidify their spot in pop-punk canon, Tour of the Setting Sum will hit Philadelphia on Saturday, May 18th. The band will play the Skyline Stage at the Mann Music Center in Fairmount Park, located at 5201 Parkside Avenue.
The Interrupters and Joey Valence & Brae will open the show. Music starts at 6:30pm. Tickets are available at MannCenter.org.
After this run of shows, Sum 41 will do a farewell tour through Canada in January 2025, including a stop in their hometown of Ontario.
