Thomas Ian Nicholas of ‘American Pie’ & ‘Rookie of the Year’ tells us about ‘Handbook For Mortals’
So what is ‘Handbook For Mortals’? Well, off the top of our heads…
An Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance that centers around Zade who moves to Las Vegas to audition for a famous magician’s stage show on the strip. She has many secrets, we’re about to find out some. The first book in the series will be available in August 2017, followed by the first film.
Thomas Ian Nicholas is producing and will be acting in a new feature film entitled “Handbook For Mortals”, an Urban Fantasy / paranormal romance. It’s basically like Now You See Me meets Twilight, except it’s a world filled with real magic instead of vampires and werewolves.

The writer, Lani Sarem used to manage this band 100 Monkeys, actually she used to manage a lot of cool bands like Blues Traveler & Plain White T’s. In fact, she was just in Philly recently with Ryan Adams. 100 Monkeys had one of the actor’s from Twilight in the band (which is how Thom first met Lani, thru music). She was putting together a concert and the theme was actors with bands.
In 2014 Lani got Thom the opportunity to write a song with Blues Traveler, and the song was included on their album “Blow up the Moon”.
A lot of fantasy films were a book series first; they are going to introduce Wizard World Comic Con fans to the film by releasing the book first. Between now and the release of the film, they’re going to be sharing a lot of FIRST LOOK exclusives to Wizard World fans starting with a chance to pre-order a limited edition of Handbook For Mortals. The book will be released on August 24th at Wizard World in Chicago. There will be a book release party and some of the cast will be in attendance, including Thomas Ian Nicholas and Lani Sarem.
