New Details on Pearl Jam’s Concert Film ‘Let’s Play Two’
Pearl Jam has dropped some big news about its upcoming concert movie, Let’s Play Two.
Filmed at Chicago’s legendary Wrigley Field during July and directed by photographer Danny Clinch, Let’s Play Two will be screened for Pearl Jam Ten Club members on September 27-28 at the Metro in Chicago, followed by a week-long limited engagement in theaters from September 29 through October 10. It will also air on FS1 on October 13, following the first game of baseball’s American League Championship Series.
The companion soundtrack, meanwhile, will be released on September 29 for the early screenings before going on sale wide on November 17, along with home video versions of the film.
In a statement, Clinch says that, “In my films and photographs, I love to explore the relationship between a band, their fans and the location. When it happens that the main characters of your film are Pearl Jam, the Chicago Cubs, their fans and Wrigley Field during a historic moment, you know it’s going to be epic. Our instincts were correct to follow the story and it took us to a historic game 7 of the World Series, ending a 108-year drought for the Cubs. I have learned to welcome the unexpected and it always pays off if you’re ready for it.”
Pre-orders for the album will start being taken on August 25, while home video pre-orders begin September 29. Information about the screenings can be found at PearlJam.com.
