Roadside America – the “world’s greatest indoor miniature village” in Shartlesville, PA – is for sale!
That’s right. Shartlesville. Roadside America, lovingly known as ‘The World’s Greatest Indoor Miniature Village’, isn’t too far from Philly in the lovely hamlet of Shartlesville in Berks County. So what can you expect to find there? Model trains are definitely their specialty and the whole place gives a view of life in America from the early pioneer days to the 1900’s.

What you may not know: Roadside America is FOR SALE! For the low, low price of $2.3 million, the whole kit and caboodle can be yours! The attraction, which sits on 26-acres in Berks County, is listed for sale by Commonwealth Real Estate. In the meantime, Roadside America remains open for business. And just so you know, the owners say that they’re looking for someone who will keep the attraction operating.

The late Laurence Gieringer created and built the village, first attracting attention in 1935 when it operated in his home. By the 1940s, he purchased land and built a warehouse to house the growing miniature collection.
