Suckin’ On A Chili Dog: Casey’s Big Game Adventure
We just caught CaseyBoy suckin’ on a chili dog over in New Mexico. AKA, the pilgrimage is complete.
Just a bit of backstory for you all: “Suckin’ On a Chili Dog” is an important piece of Preston and Steve Show culture. Our obsession began with this video. The cover is of Jack and Diane by John Mellencamp, but most of the lyrics are “suckin’ on a chili dog.” Why? We don’t know. The real song features the phrase one time, in the line “Suckin’ on chilli dog outside the Tastee Freez.”
The gang became enamored with the parody version. So much so, that Preston actually covered the cover at the Camp Out for Hunger this past year.
All this to say that on his Big Game Adventure, CaseyBoy managed to spot a Tastee Freez. And what did that Tastee Freez serve? None other than chili dogs, of course. The promised land has been reached (well, the promised land before the ACTUAL promised land in AZ).
Now, mind you, CaseyBoy is not EATING this chili dog. He is merely sucking on it. Make no mistake here. He is keeping true to the iconic song we love so much. It’s almost too perfect.
The Big Game Adventure
Just to recap…
On Monday, CaseyBoy, Anthony Gargano, Jacky Bam Bam and Kyle Maack hit the road bound for Arizona.
Back in September, Casey, Jacky, and Kyle hit the road on Casey’s Big Adventure, bound for California. With the Eagles in the Super Bowl all the way in Arizona, it only made sense for them to get the band back together. Amazingly, the gang got Philly’s favorite “everyman,” the one, the only, Anthony Gargano to join them. His knowledge of sports and his friendly disposition made him the perfect addition to the already iconic group.
The crew reached their end goal today! They are safely in Arizona ready to rock Radio Row. The Philly Things have been placed. The good juju is spread.
Now onto winning the whole…damn…thing.
