Every Single Easter Egg from the New ‘Saved By The Bell’ Trailer
We finally have a date for the new “Saved By The Bell.” November 25th, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and the perfect night to get the gang back together we’ll get the first new episode” on Peacock
The announcement was delivered yesterday along with a new extended trailer. We now know more about the characters, storyline and – as we were promised – Zack and Kelly are back! But what else did the trailer reveal?
Lots. They find plenty of ways to poke fun and pay homage at the original series. Here’s a list of Easter Eggs we spotted plus a few oblivious nods that are only included so no one tried to call us out for missing something. First, the video for reference:
- :02 Rare maroon + white Bayside sweatshirt (most commonly shown in gray + maroon)
- :03 Spanish Club poster hanging over the lockers
- :05 First (and hopefully only) “Hey, mama”
- :07 New kids starting at Bayside. Remember Slater was once the new kid.
- :10 Zack’s kid is named Mac and drives a Corvette because… why not.
- :11 Double collar mocking the early 2000’s bro look
- :14 Jessie’s son, Jamie, is a jock and he’s throwing a party
- :18 TIME OUT
- :20 Drama & Chemistry Club fliers on the wall
- :22 Zack Morris returns to Bayside
- :24 Meet the new goofy principal, Ronald Toddman
- :26 Chess Club & Field Trip to the Exploratorium posters
- :28 Zack passes the crown to Mac
- :30 Spencer, a nerd we can expect to get picked on a lot
- :40 Slater sitting in a chair backwards to bond with the new kid, possibly pinches a nut
- :45 Tesla, Tesla, Mercedes-Benz
- :53 Principal Toddman and friends playing the Harvest Dance
- :59 Max returns! His hair is the highest it’s ever been.
- 1:02 Original pay phone and juke box are still there (A-12 was Zack & Kelly’s song)
- 1:04 **cuts to different scene at The Max for cheese magic trick**
- 1:09 Slater counting into a “Friends Forever” remix
- 1:10 Bayside letterman’s jacket in the crowd
- 1:12 Kelly appears!
- 1:13 Zack, Kelly, Jessie and Slater, without a shirt on, taking a selfie at a Bayside fundraiser (‘Support our Tigers’ in the background)
- 1:14 Drama Club doing a 50’s-themed play (remember The 5 Aces?)
- 1:15 The boys recreating the original Risky Business/Barbara Ann scene
- Slater is wearing the same outfit
- Mac is dressed as Zack
- Unknown character as Screech
- 1:16 Mac potentially greasing the waitstaff at the fundraiser
- 1:18 More shirtless Slater
- 1:19 Jesse, Slater and Zack at The Max, Bayside cheerleader in the background
- 1:20 Zack and Kelly crashing a Pep Rally, Homecoming banner, Slater looks annoyed
- 1:21 Bayside a capella group “oooooh-ing” a romantic date (date or class assignment?)
- 1:23 Strawberry milkshake (Zack had one poured on him by Screech’s cousin)
- 1:27 Zack Attack Revised (Jessie was not in the original group)
- Kelly wearing the same pink dress, jacket added
- Zack’s jacket was from his post Zack Attack solo tour
- Slater moved from drums to keytar (Screech’s apot)
- Jessie’s blue dress is a nod to Lisa’s original green outfit, diligently hiding the bass instead of fake playing it.
- 1:28 “Good job, preppy” face tap between Mac & Jamie who are both covered in dirt/food
- 1:29 The Zack Morris phone (teens trying to use old technology is always entertaining)
- 1:34 Mr. Dewey teaching algebra. Whoop dee do.
- 1:35 Looking around the corner Three Stogies-style which would happen in every heist episode
- 1:36 Preppy Jr overlooking the school from the top of the stairs, Biology Club poster
- 1:37 Freeze frame group high five that ended many episodes
- 1:42 Slater cleaning up a high school party… and the best line of the trailer IMO.
Theories:
- Zack and Kelly, will have bit roles like Danny, Joey, Uncle Jesse & Rebecca did in Fuller House. Most of the storylines will focus on the students, Jessie and Slater.
- Zack Attack ends up performing at the Bayside Fundraiser when the band doesn’t show up. Hence the “we saved the day once again” high five.
Zero references to Screech or Lisa. But one confusingTori mention.- UPDATE: Today Peacock announced that Lisa Turtle will appear on the series. It looks like she’s a hotshot fashion designer. Maybe we can expect a SBTB-style phone call to her from a character who’s looking for advice.
- There won’t bee enough Mr. Dewey.
- The plotlines dive deeper into the new kids’ stories because they’re more interesting than the rich kids who are trying to pull off the same pranks their parents did 25 years ago!
- Although the new kids also turn against each other when becomes friends with the rich kids.
