Will Friedle Shows Off His Love for Philadelphia & Superhero Underwear
Boy Meets Preston & Steve
If you’re a fan of the now-classic ABC sitcom “Boy Meets World”, you’re in for a treat. This week we got to talk with none other than Will Friedle, who you might remember as TV’s favorite older brother Eric Matthews. He stopped by to make some exciting announcements, and of course, indulge every last one of our burning questions about “Boy Meets World”. Disclaimer: some serious fanboying (and girling) went down.
Will’s in town for his “The Kids Wanna Jump! Tour”, which is a traveling series of live tapings of his podcast.
The podcast, hosted by Will alongside Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter) and Daneille Fishel (Topanga Lawrence), is aptly named “Pod Meets World”. The live tapings give long-time fans a chance to nerd out with original cast members as they go through old episodes, share behind-the-scenes stories and reflect on the phenomenon that the sitcom became.
The Philly tour date is Saturday the 30th . But while he’s here, Will made sure to leave himself a few days to experience all that the City of Brotherly Love has to offer.
His first stop was naturally a Phillies game. The Phils nixed an early lead for the Pirates and came out on top. But as if that wasn’t awesome enough, Will got to do something most Philadelphians can only dream of. The Pod Meets World crew summited the dugout to dance with the Phanatic, which Will called “bucket-list kind of stuff”.
“Boy Meets World” uberfans Marisa and Kyle couldn’t pass up the chance to dive into some juicy fan theories (or take a selfie) with Eric Matthews himself. They joined Will in the studio to do just that. Is brain damage the real culprit in Eric’s doofus-ization? The world may never know.
Batman uberfan, Steve Morrison, couldn’t pass up the chance to bring up Will’s voice acting work in the Batman animated series. His connection to the genre runs deep – down to his skivvies – and this interview covered a lot of it.

If you have your own burning questions about “Boy Meets World”, make sure to catch the Pod Meets World crew at The Met Saturday night. Oh, and per their website: “they might just have an unbelievable prize in every city for the best Boy Meets World costume in the audience, so come dressed up!”
