AEW’s Orange Cassidy Doesn’t Care About Much… But This Pizza Joint Has His Attention
There are very few things in this world that peak AEW Collision star Orange Cassidy’s interest these days; the Fast & Furious franchise, Jefferson Starship, Angelo’s Pizzeria, shirts with his own face on it… You get the idea.
In an industry he says is full of people who take themselves to serious, Cassidy offers a different perspective, “who cares?” When he was an up-and-comer in the industry he was often asked about his height, weight, etc. He would often respond with “who cares.” This has become the motto for Cassidy’s wrestling career, even when dumping 80 gallons of orange juice on fellow AEW wrestler; Chris Jericho.
The orange juice stunt destroyed Jericho’s $7,000 jacket and the duo’s relationship. Cassidy revealed to Preston and Steve that Chris Jericho “will not shut up about it” and in his classic “who cares” fashion he decided to repay his $7,000 debt IN COINS! Why? Because “it’s annoying.”
Another thing Orange Cassidy once cared about? His AEW championship belt. Cassidy, who would carry his belt whenever and wherever he could, suggested you’d be hard pressed to find a moment an outsider could touch the belt. Even if you’re Philadelphia TSA.
Being a New Jersey native, Cassidy said he owes a lot of his career to Philly. “Philadelphia has professional wrestling fans, who understand professional wrestling.” He says they can identify someone who’s not being genuine and that “if you can win over the Philadelphia faithful, then you’ll be alright.”
But being a pro-wrestler was always in the cards for Orange Cassidy though he didn’t know how exactly he was going to do it; he knew he would. Cassidy isn’t built like your traditional wrestler, nor does he look like one but for him; “who cares?” As a former AEW International champion there’s nothing left that Cassidy has to prove.
Been in a “who cares?” mood lately, watch our interview with Orange Cassidy below then check out AEW Collision in Philadelphia at the Liacouras Center on November 2nd.
