‘The Weight of a Mountain’ film to support Sanfilippo Syndrome
The Weight of a Mountain is a short film documenting the efforts of parents whose children have Sanfilippo Syndrome, a rare and fatal genetic disorder, and their journey to the ends of the earth in an effort to create hope where none existed.
This film is based Team Sanfilippo’s 2016 ascend up Mt. Rainier. Nick McIlwain from The Preston & Steve Show took part the blog [Nick’s blog]. It was his second trip with the team who climb to raise funds and awareness about Sanfilippo Syndrome.
The documentary is steaming now on Amazon Prime, or you can watch it with the parents involved on February 27th. They are hosting a screening at Nemours AI DuPont Children’s Hospital in Wilmington. Carl S. Kapes, father of two boys with Sanfilippo Syndrome, and the film’s creator Dan Salvo will be doing a Q&A immediately afterwards (runtime of the film is 33 minutes).
