Bradley Cooper Confirms Philly Fans Have Chip on Our Shoulder… and That’s OK
Before Sunday night’s primetime slaughter of the Cowboys, a one minute Eagles hype video played on NBC that sent chills around the Delaware Valley.
It’s been a while – as in never – that an entire league has been overwhelmingly pro-Philadelphia this early in the season. The clip, which is voiced by and stars Bradley Cooper says everything that we already know. But now it’s being said in primetime to everyone watching.
We have a reputation, we’re aggressive, we’re an acquired taste, we have a chip on our shoulder, and we are obsessed with Jalen Hurts. Yup. That all sounds right.
I have to point out how appreciative I am that they used “aggressive” in place of the overly used, sometimes wrongfully used adjective that we’re tired of hearing: passionate.
The video is loaded with gorgeous shots of The Linc, massive tailgates and all the keys plays that we’ve watched and shared on our Instagram stories a million times this season. There are a couple of nice things said about the Cowboys, but not many and only because they had to. This is an Eagles video through and through, give an Emmy to the people who made it!
A rivalry made for Sunday night. 💯

Thank you to The Inquirer for taking the time to transcribe the script of this gem:
“This is everything it’s supposed to be. And I’m not even saying that as a Philly guy. Yeah, I know we’ve got a reputation of being a little … aggressive sometimes. And maybe some of us are an acquired taste. But if you’re a football fan, and you’ve got these two teams playing like this? I mean, come on, what else could you want?
“The Eagles usually don’t play this role. We’re always the team nobody likes. We’ve gotten used to that chip on our shoulder. But getting used to this guy? [The video pans to Jalen Hurts walking onto the field]. Pretty easy.
Now here comes the best defense in the league [the video pans to Cowboys], and a guy who came out of nowhere [Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush] but can’t seem to lose. They’re ready. And we’re ready. Our team — and America’s team — with the whole country watching. It’s Sunday night and it’s Eagles, Cowboys.”
