During a recent appearance on The Preston & Steve Show, WWE star Grayson Waller said that he and the Eagles mainstay could carry out the popular drinking celebration this April at WrestleMania.
Waller is in Philly to promote WrestleMania. He got a chance to meet Kelce on Wednesday at Eagles practice. It was there that Kelce said he wanted to do a shoey. Waller told him that doing so would make him “an official Australian”. He also met Eagles offensive lineman and fellow Aussie Jordan Mailata. They discovered that they both came from Bankstown, a suburb southwest of Sydney.
Philly loves you back.
Waller has been traveling all over America. He gives most of the U.S. cities he’s visited the prestigious designation of ‘hole’. However, he praised the average Philadelphian’s ability to freely conduct a shoey in any old pub. We’ll take that as a compliment! Apparently, it’s frowned upon in the Land Down Under? Can’t imagine why!
Shoeys aside, wrestling is what brought Waller to the city and what continues to open doors in his career. On-stage, he’s not acting out a character. He prefers not to use that word. “This is who I am”, he told Preston & Steve. It’s that authenticity that has catapulted him to success both inside the ring and out.
In true wrestler fashion, Waller debuted his new talk show The Grayson Waller Effect while recovering from a broken leg earlier this year. One insight Waller shared was that the best wrestlers are the most entertaining, an idea which he seems to practice and fully embrace. His trademark bravado was on full display in the studio, as he said that his broken leg had no effect on his show “because I can talk so good and I look so good”.
Here is Waller’s hot takes about the cities he’s been to and his time as a contestant on Survivor. Plus, there’s is review of why England is a mediocre version of Australia. The full interview:
WrestleMania 40 comes to Lincoln Financial Field on April 6th and 7th, 2024. Tickets go on sale this Friday.
